“Dietary management in health and disease” Extension Activity Health Awareness programme on “Dietary management in health and disease” Department of Biochemistry conducted Health Awareness programme on “Dietary management in health and disease” on 4th December 2022 between 6 to 9 am. At Vardanjaneya temple near ladies Hostel Ashram Road Vijayapura. Under the Banner of BLDE (DU) Shri B M Patil Medical college and Hospital. Total 5 PG students & 5 teachers have participated in the programme. The total beneficiaries were near 150. On this occasion the beneficiaries were briefed about the role of nutrition in the management of Life Style Disorders. They were sensitized about the role of nutrients in the maintenance of especially DM and BP. Also briefed about the role of dietary fibers in maintenance of healthy life and controlling the Life Style Disorders. The health awareness programme well taken and appreciated by the public.

Mrs. Soumya Tungal Ph.D. Scholar Department of Biochemistry, under the supervision of Dr. Nilima Dongre, Professor at the Department of Biochemistry, BLDE (DU) Vijayapura presented e-poster on the topic of “Insilco Screening of Pithecellobium dulce Bioactive compounds as MMP1 inhibitors for Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment” at BLDE(DU) Vijayapura, Karnataka India -XXXIVth Annual National Conference of the Physiological Society of India (PSI) and received Gold Medal for best Poster presentation in the year -2023 among the Young Scientists PSI, Vidyasagar University Medal Award

Mrs. Soumya Tungal, Ph.D. scholar at the Department of Biochemistry, under the supervision of Dr. Nilima Dongre, Professor presented oral presentation on "In-Silico potential of Pithecellobium dulce against IkBα for Rheumatoid arthritis" in the national Conference "Advances in Biotechnology and Nanotechnology" held at Karnataka University Dharwad on 14th and 15th March 2023, organized by the Department of Microbiology & Biotechnology, KUD Dharwad and secured the 2nd place out of 29 presenters

Department of Physiology is organized “Library Assignment/ Diagram Training” for MBBS Phase I 2023-24 Batch held on 5th& 6th January 2024 in between 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the Central Library & Physiology quadrangle.
